Het romantische Napolitaanse liefdeslied ( O solo Mio), symboliseert de stad Napels. Kronkelig kleine straatjes, lieflijke terrassen en bijzondere bezienswaardigheden staan garant voor een typisch Italië gevoel. In deze reis zit een excursie per fiets door deze geweldige stad.

Maar ook een prive excursie naar Pompeï, de stad die anno 79 door een uitbarsting van de Vesuvius in de as werd gelegd, werd pas 1700 jaar later herontdekt. Vandaag de dag is Pompeï een van de belangrijkse bezienswaardigheden ter wereld. Alle gebouwen hebben de uitbarsting destijds doorstaan. Het wegdek is nog intact en de muren zijn met graffiti bedekt. Via dell'Abbondanza was één van de hoofdroutes van Pompeï. Tussen de resten van winkels, huizen en badinstallaties, loopt u van de Porta Marina (stadspoort) naar het Forum en van de tempel van Jupiter naar de Basilica. In de bakkkerij van Modesto werden verkoolde broden gevonden. Stoffen, juwelen, voedsel, gereedschappen en gebruiksvoorwerpen werden grotendeels verwoest of zijn verdwenen onder een vloedgolf van modder.
